The Costume Company - Part of the Team

Day-to-Day Designing
2001 to 2012 (ongoing) - Aurora, Canada

My Roles:

  • Assistant Costume Designer
  • Operations Coordinator, Scheduling and Client Correspondence
  • Costume Construction/Alterations
  • Fabric Dyeing/Breakdown/Painting
  • Buying/Shopping
  • Anything to get the job done!
When I'm not working on my own projects or in film/television, I work for a costume rental and construction company. The company officially became a business approximately 6 years ago, but the owner and I have been building up the costume stock (over 8000 pieces) for 10 years. Along with our team, we build/source entire shows for various Theatre companies across Canada, some large scale and some community based. We mainly focus on complete musical productions.

The Royal Ascot - Millinery

In March I returned to Marquee Costumes to continue working after 16 months in the UK. In April I was involved in producing the costumes for a production of "My Fair Lady".

My main task was to produce the wonderful hats for the scene set at Ascot.
